§ 113. POLITICAL ACTIVITY.

  • No person in the classified service shall, either directly or indirectly, solicit or receive or be in any manner concerned in soliciting or receiving any assessment, subscription or contribution for any political party or any political purpose whatever. No person shall by letter, or by oral or written communication, solicit or be in any manner concerned in soliciting any assessment, subscription or contribution for any political party or any political purpose, from any person holding a position in the classified service. No person in the classified service shall act as an officer of a political organization or take any active part in a political campaign organization or serve as a member of a committee of any such organization, or circulate or seek signatures to any petition provided for by any primary or election laws or by this Charter other than an initiative or referendum petition, or act as a worker at the polls in favor of or opposed to any candidate for election or nomination to a public office, whether Federal, State, County or Municipal.
