§ 153.230. Prohibited use class.

  • A.

    No structure or premises shall be used and no structure shall be erected which is to be used for the following class of prohibited uses, except by special legislation introduced by the Councilman of the ward in which the structure or premises is located, which special legislation shall be subject to the procedures and requirements of Sections 153.478 through 153.490.

    1.

    Petroleum refining;

    2.

    Cement, lime, gypsum, or plaster of Paris manufacture;

    3.

    Fertilizer manufacture from minerals or organic materials;

    4.

    Chlorine, hydrochloric acid, or picric acid manufacture;

    5.

    Smelting of copper, tin, zinc, or iron ore;

    6.

    Explosives manufacture;

    7.

    Distillation of bones; fat rendering; glue, size, or gelatin manufacture;

    8.

    Soap manufacture; snuff manufacture;

    9.

    Stock yard.

    B.

    Any expansion or enlargement of the above cited prohibited uses not existing as a legal or lawful nonconforming use, as defined in Section 153.140, shall be subject to the procedures and requirements stated above.
