§ 72.99. Penalty.
A.
Whoever violates §§ 72.55 through 72.59 shall be fined not less nor more than thirty-five dollars on a first offense, unless the fine is waived in accordance with § 72.62(A); on a second offense, such person shall be fined not less nor more than thirty-five dollars, except that if such person fails to prove timely acquisition of a child restraint system as provided by § 72.62(B), such person shall be fined not less nor more than seventy dollars.
B.
Whoever violates §§ 72.55 through 72.58 and fails to prove that his use or nonuse of a child restraint system was in accordance with the law of the state of which he is a resident shall be fined not less nor more than thirty-five dollars. (R.C. § 4511.99(H), (I))
