§ 101.10. Regulations.

  • The following regulations are established for the planting, trimming, and care in or on the streets and other public property, including rights of way thereof.

    A.

    Trees must not be less than two inches in diameter of trunk measured six inches above the ground, except bare-root trees, which must not be less than one-and-one-half inches in diameter of trunk measured six inches above the ground.

    B.

    No tree shall hereafter be planted at the intersection of two or more streets or within twenty feet of any intersection.

    C.

    In cutting down trees, they must be removed with the root stump grubbed out when so required by the Director of Public Service or his authorized agent.

    D.

    Trees shall hereafter be planted at least thirty feet apart, except when a special permit is obtained from the Director or his authorized agent.

    E.

    No tree shall be planted on any street, except the variety of tree selected by the Director or his authorized agent. Penalty, see § 101.99.
