§ 98.11. Street name changes.

  • The names of public ways, streets, avenues, boulevards, alleys, courts, roads, places, drives and paths may be changed by ordinance without petition therefor, when the names are the same, when the names are spelled similarly, when the names sound similar, when any public way has more than one name or when such public ways having more than one name are not in exact coordination at street crossings, although being substantially one continuous public way. In all other cases, the names may be changed by ordinance when a petition signed by the owners of one-tenth of the foot frontage on any such public way is filed with the Clerk of Council.
