  • A.

    The hedge row shall consist of a double-staggered row of a single species of shrubs, with a minimum height of twenty-four inches at time of planting. The shrubs in each row shall be a minimum of five feet on center, and the distance between the two staggered rows shall be two feet. Distances are calculated from centerline of shrub to centerline of shrub.

    B.

    Shrubs shall be a salt-tolerant species, either balled/burlapped or container grown, such as Compact Burning Bush, Northern Bayberry, Nordic Compact Inkberry, Regal's Border Privet, or Alpine Currant (sunny condition). Species such as Compact European Cranberry Bush Viburnum, Arrowwood Viburnum, or Red Twig Dogwood shall be used in shady locations.

    C.

    Plant beds shall be mulched with a minimum of three-inch layer of shredded hardwood bark mulch. The plant bed perimeter shall have a six-inch height concrete curb. If plant beds are located in an area where hardsurfacing exists, the hardsurface material shall be removed in area of proposed plant bed.
